My name is Louisa, and my love for cooking began long before Julou Lounge was created. Growing up in Cameroon, I spent countless hours in the kitchen with my mother. Watching her prepare meals for our family, helping with ingredients, and learning her recipes sparked a passion that has stayed with me throughout my life. Cooking was more than just making food—it was a way of bringing people together, showing love, and creating memories.

Years later, I moved to the United States after being selected through the Diversity Visa Lottery, where I reunited with my husband and children to begin a new chapter of our lives. While I brought my passion for cooking with me, my husband, Juscarl, brought his own passion for bartending and hospitality.

The name Julou is a combination of our names and our shared dreams. “Ju” comes from the first two letters of Juscarl’s name (my husband), and “Lou” comes from the first three letters of mine. Together, they represent not only our partnership but also our commitment to serving others through food, hospitality, and memorable experiences.

For me, cooking has never been just a business. It is something I genuinely enjoy and would do even if I weren't getting paid. There is nothing more rewarding than seeing people enjoy a meal, celebrate special moments, and feel at home through the food I prepare. Every dish from Julou Lounge is made with the same care, dedication, and love that I learned from my mother years ago in Cameroon.

My ultimate goal is to grow Julou Lounge into an international kitchen that brings people together through food while making a meaningful difference in the lives of others. One of my greatest passions is giving back to widows and orphans who are in need. Every order placed and every profit earned helps support that mission.
